1. How do I proceed when I arrive at Riverside Recycling?
Pull into our entrance gate at 910 Riverside Street and proceed up the hill. Please stop and speak with an attendant so that you can let them know what you have to recycle. All customers have the choice to either sort their loads or “dump a mixed load”. You may then proceed onto the Inbound Scale to be weighed. Please be sure to speak with an attendant before pulling onto the scale. Once you get the green light to go, you may proceed to either the sorting stations (on the right), or the mixed pile (on the left). Once you have completed your recycling, simply return to the Outbound Scale to be weighed again. Please feel free to go ahead and pull on up to the Outbound Scale even though the traffic light may be red. Just be sure to remain on the scale until you get the green light. One of our friendly scale house attendants will be out to your window to finish processing your transaction.
2. Do I have to be a Portland resident to use Riverside Recycling?
No. Riverside Recycling is open to the public. Residential and commercial traffic are all welcome.
3. What are your hours of operation?
Open Monday – Saturday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm.
Closed on Sunday and Holidays. Please check our Holiday Schedule.

4. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, Apple pay, AMEX, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.
5. Do you accept pressure treated wood?
Yes we do. Pricing falls under the “non-recyclable” category.
6. What about old TV’s and computers? Where can I safely recycle them?
Riverside Recycling handles all E-waste, including tv’s, computers, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, mercury devices such as thermostats and thermometers. Please see Pricing Tab for more information.
7. Do you accept lawnmowers, snowblowers, rototillers, weedwackers, chainsaws, pressure washers etc.?
We do accept items that are motor driven. All fluids need to be drained, gas, oil, etc. Refer to our Hazardous Waste page for dates and times for disposal of gas, oil etc.
