Items We Accept
- Brush
- Wood waste such as tree trunks, limbs, sticks, branches.
- Clean Wood / Demo Wood
- Wood from construction or demolition, wooden furniture, pallets, pressure treated. The rate for this is the mixed material pricing.
- Yard Waste
- Green waste such as leaves, grass, garden debris.
- Gypsum
- Drywall, plaster, sheetrock. The rate for this is the mixed material pricing.
- Inert Materials
- Brick, stone, and asphalt with NO dirt mixed in. If it is painted or has creosote buildup on it, then it will go to the mixed pile at mixed material pricing. We will not take dirt from an inert project.
- Non-Recyclable / Mixed Materials
- Stuffed furniture, carpet, carpet pad, styrofoam, insulation, clothing, shoes, cassette tapes, toys, mattresses, boxsprings, glass, porcelain, doors, windows, wood, gypsum, drywall, dirty shingles, plastics, and more. Check out pricing for additional fees on mattresses and boxsprings.
- Shingles
- Clean roofing shingles (No flashing, wood, paper, plastic, etc.)
- Tires
- If you have 8 tires or more, we will do it by weight (Check pricing tab for Tire by weight rate). If you have less than 8 tires check pricing tab for per tire rate whether it’s on the rim or off the rim. Tractor tires / larger tires are by weight PLUS the additional tractor tire rate.
- Metals
- We accept metal but we do not pay for it, we do charge for it. We will not accept catalytic converters. We will take oil tanks but they need to be cut in half and wiped clean.
- Stumps
- Stumps cost more than regular brush (See pricing tab). It is cost effective to keep your brush and stumps separate.
- Cardboard
- There are two options for cardboard. The silver bullet (See bottom of this page for info on the silver bullet) and our open cardboard pit. Our pit has a flat fee (See pricing tab) and it has to be clean carboard only.
- Appliances
- Freon appliances such as refrigerators, ice machines, air conditioners, freezers, water coolers, heat pump water heaters, and heat pump condensers will fall under the freon appliance pricing category. Non freon appliances such as standard water heaters, stoves, washers, dryers, and microwaves will fall under the non freon appliance pricing category. Commercial freons such as commercial freezers, fridges, heat pumps, sandwich stations, and commercial water coolers will fall under the commercial freon appliance pricing category.
- Fire Extinguishers
- Smoke Detectors
- Both types of smoke detectors (Photoelectric and ionization) and carbon monoxide detectors fall under the same pricing category and are accepted any day we are open not just on hazardous waste day.
- Propane Tanks (excluding the large fat ones)
- There are three pricing categories for propane tanks: 1 lb. camper type, 5 lb. – 20 lb. tanks, and 25 lb. – 100 lb. tanks. We will accept the larger ones as long as they are the skinny ones. We will not accept the large fat ones commonly used for home heating.
- E-Waste / Universal Waste
- Tv’s, computers, printers, copiers, cell phones, fluorescent tubes, CFL bulbs, LED lights, ballasts, mercury devices, batteries, etc. We accept e-waste any time we are open. All electronics have additional fees, see pricing tab for specific rates.
Silver Bullet
Riverside Recycling also has a “silver bullet” recycling container on site. If you have missed your recycling pick-up, or simply have a lot to recycle, please feel free to come on over. Remember to always stop and speak with an attendant before entering into the facility. Silver Bullet use is a free of charge service. All items need to be placed into the silver bullet, please do not leave items on the ground.
Items NOT Accepted:
Riverside Recycling does not accept any of the following materials:
- Household garbage/food waste or any food-related items
- Asbestos
- Hazardous waste on non-hazardous waste drop-off days
- Medical waste such as needles or prescription drugs
- Pet waste
- Untested unscreened loam
- Untested dirt mixed with inert
- Untested sod
